The WPSL says it will launch a professional third division in 2025, which would be the first U.S. women’s league in that tier. USL and WISL plan to launch as second-division leagues in 2024. WPSL PRO plans to launch with 10 teams, president Sean Jones says. Pro league standards require a women’s D-3 league to have six teams, minimum stadium capacities of 1,000, and principal team owners with individual net worths of $5 million.
