WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu is the newest investor in the NWSL’s Bay FC, the team announced on Monday. Ionescu is a WNBA champion, a three-time All-Star, an Olympic gold medalist, and a Bay Area native. “I have full faith in the club’s vision and its potential to make a profound impact within and beyond women’s soccer,” she said, adding “this opportunity holds even more significance” being close to home. Sixth Street remains the majority owner of Bay FC.
