WNBA star Aliyah Boston joins Boston Legacy investor group

WNBA star and Worcester native Aliyah Boston has joined the NWSL expansion club Boston Legacy FC’s investor group. The Legacy will become the league’s 15th club when they join in 2026.

Boston, a two-time Class AA NEPSAC champion and three-time Gatorade Player of the Year, was the first player at Worcester Academy to have their jersey retired. Following high school, she went on to play at South Carolina, where she won the 2023 NCAA championship, and was drafted first overall by the Indiana Fever.

“I’m proud to join the ownership group of the Boston Legacy,” Boston said in a statement. “This city helped raise me, and the support I felt here shaped so much of who I am. I couldn’t be more excited to have the opportunity to invest into a franchise that’s building something special for its players, for the city, and for women’s sports as a whole. And yes…Boston repping Boston just felt right!”
