Wendie Renard, defender for the French women’s national team, announced that she would not represent France at the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup. Translated from French, Renard posted on her social media: “I can no longer endorse the current system, far from the requirements required by the highest level. I will not do this World Cup in such conditions. My face can hide the pain, but my heart hurts. I don’t want to hurt anymore.”
