The Sept. 12 game scheduled to be played between the Washington Spirit and OL Reign at Audi Field has been cancelled. It’s 3-0 forfeit (score is a FIFA rule) for Washington for breaking COVID-19 protocols. A source tells EQZ there were multiple breaches, including a player exiting quarantine early. No word yet on the fate of last week’s postponed Thorns-Spirit game. Washington has now lost two of 12 scheduled home games this year.
