The U.S. women will play Uzbekistan on April 9 in Columbus and April 12 in Chester, Pa., for the first games between the teams. Uzbekistan is ranked No. 45 in the world. A source with knowledge said “a top team from Asia” was booked but COVID-19 travel regulations and realities caused them to pull out. U.S. Soccer also has contractual obligations to host home games. There’s no sugarcoating it, however: these aren’t overly exciting fixtures.
