The USL Super League, which is set to become the first Division 2 women’s professional soccer league in the U.S., will delay its launch a year to August 2024. The announcement came Monday alongside USL’s plans to expand the amateur W-League and newly launched girls’ academy system. USL says the three will create a year-round schedule that will “prepare the groundwork for potentially introducing a promotion/relegation system.” No Super League teams have been announced yet.
