Trinity Rodman is the first player in NWSL history to sign a contract worth more than $1 million cumulatively. The Washington Spirit announced they re-signed the 2021 NWSL Rookie of the Year through 2024, plus an option year. The Washington Post and Sportico each reported the deal is worth $1.1 million over four years, which a source also confirmed to The Equalizer. Washington used allocation money to pay above the new annual maximum of $75,000.
