U.S. women’s national team star and Washington Spirit forward Trinity Rodman left Friday night’s match against Kansas City with an apparent back injury. Rodman originally subbed out in the 78th minute, then received treatment on the sideline before being carted off. The broadcast did show her returning to the bench before the end of the match. She is tied for the team lead with eight goals this season and has contributed six assists for the Spirit who are ranked second in the National Women’s Soccer League.
