After exiting the Washington Spirit’s 4-0 win over Monterrey in Concacaf W Champions Cup group play Wednesday night due to injury, Rodman was diagnosed with a Grade 1 MCL knee sprain, the least severe on the injury scale. Rodman is expected to miss the upcoming USWNT camp as a result but could return in a few weeks for the NWSL playoffs. Spirit head coach Adrián González called the diagnosis “the best scenario … not as bad as it could be” but did not share a timetable for her return, saying, “We are going to take this day by day. Every player is completely different and we want to support her.”
