The Kansas City Current announced Friday that reigning NWSL MVP Temwa Chawinga has been removed from the season-ending injury list and elevated to the active roster. The forward will be available for Saturday’s home game against Gotham FC. Chawinga injured her adductor in October in the penultimate match of the 2025 regular season and was designated SEI to start the 2026 preseason with an unclear timeline for return. Kansas City won the 2025 NWSL Shield by a record 21 points last year behind 15 goals from Chawinga.
