First reported by Steven Goff on Monday, the Washington Spirit have reached a multiyear deal with MLS’ D.C. United to play all of their home matches at Audi Field in 2023. This includes all league matches, potential playoff matches, and some early challenge cup contests. While Washington played some matches at Audi in 2022 they split time with Segra Field, a 5,000 seat venue in Leesburg that does’t meet the league’s current standards and drew complaints from players and fans alike. The deal also includes the Spirit’s continued use of United’s training center in Leesburg.
