Report: NWSL to remove HIP criteria

Per a report from The Cutback, the NWSL is set to remove the player-eligibility criteria from its High Impact Player Rule. Clubs are expected to be able to freely select which players’ salaries can be paid with the added $1 million in salary cap space. Previously, many notable players were not eligible for the funds, including two-time NWSL MVP and three-time NWSL Golden Boot winner Sam Kerr, who is rumored to be returning.
