The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) announced that head coach Pia Sundhage has been dismissed. In the coming days, the CBF will announce the new coaching staff that will look forward to the upcoming cycle starting with the 2024 Olympic Games and the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Sundhage took over the Brazilian women’s national team in July 2019. The dismissal comes after Brazil–who were favorites to advance out of Group F–didn’t make it beyond the group stage.
