The Kansas City Current announced on Tuesday that Patrick Mahomes, quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs and husband to Brittney Mahomes, has joined the team’s ownership group. The Current noted that Mahomes is the “first active NFL player to have equity in an NWSL team.” Mahomes is also part of the Sporting Kansas City (MLS) and Kansas City Royals (MLB) ownership groups. Brittany Mahomes said that Patrick has been a “huge supporter” behind the scenes.
