Spain defender Olga Carmona confirmed that she learned of her father’s death in the moments after Sunday’s triumph in the World Cup final over England. Carmona scored the game’s only goal, her second straight after scoring the game-winner in the semifinal against Sweden. “[Sunday] was the best and worst day of my life,” she said on her Twitter account. “Wherever you are you know that this star is also yours, dad.”
