Oguchi Onyewu, former U.S. men’s national team defender and soccer executive, has been hired as U.S. Soccer’s Vice President of Sporting, a new position. Onyewu will work with USSF’s new Sporting Director Matt Crocker in “supporting all sporting initiatives within the Federation.” One of his main concerns will be helping with fundraising for youth and extended national teams. Onyewu was formerly on the U.S. Soccer Board of Directors.
