NWSL commissioner Jessica Berman confirmed an independent investigation into the Bay FC coaching staff following complaints made by two former players. Head coach Albertin Montoya was directly named as part of the complaints. Marisa Ingemi of the San Francisco Chronicle first reported the news Friday morning. Berman said the presence of complaints “without a predetermined conclusion“ means that NWSL policies are working. She did not expand on any details, citing confidentiality agreements.
