The NWSL on Friday announced Dr. Cindy Chang, MD, FACM, FAMSSM, as the league’s first chief medical officer, a position required as per the new CBA. Dr. Chang will oversee league medical operations and protocols. Her daughter, Carlin Hudson, was drafted into the league in 2018. The league also announced that teams can now sign emergency replacement players in the event that a team cannot field a sufficient roster due to COVID-19 protocols.
