North Korea defeated Spain in a penalty shootout on Sunday to win a record third U-17 Women’s World Cup title. The two teams traded second-half goals and ended level through 90 minutes; the match went straight to a shootout. Spain won the previous two U-17 World Cups, in 2022 and 2018. North Korea also won a third U-20 World Cup in September. The United States defeated England 3-0 earlier Sunday to earn third place.
