Nicole Barnhart has announced her retirement from professional soccer. The longtime goalkeeper began her career in 2006 with the California Storm. She featured for FC Gold Pride and the Philadelphia Independence in the former WPS. In the NWSL, she won two championships with FC Kansas City, and featured for the Utah Royals and Washington Spirit. Barnhart made 54 appearances for the U.S. women’s national team and was on the 2008 and 2012 gold medal-winning teams.
