Mark Parsons is returning the National Women’s Soccer League. The former Portland Thorns manager returns with the Washington Spirit, being named the side’s next head coach. Parsons previously coached in Washington D.C., serving as manager from 2013-15, before coaching Portland from 2016-21. Parsons’ most recent stint included coach the Netherlands women’s national team for one year. He was fired from the Netherlands after the team’s EURO 2022 exit in the quarterfinals to France.
