According to a report from ESPN’s Jeff Kassouf, Maria Sanchez has requested a trade from the Houston Dash just five months into her historic contract. Sanchez, a Mexico international, signed a three-year deal with a fourth-year option in December as an unrestricted free agent. When it was inked, her contract set an NWSL record of $1.5 million in total compensation. Houston is 1-2-1 through the first four matches this season with four points.
