According to reporting from Sportico, Moroccan-American businessman Marc Lasry is close to purchasing a controlling stake in the NWSL’s North Carolina Courage. Lasry, who was a co-owner of the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks from 2014 to 2023, is founder and CEO of Avenue Capital Group. In the article, Sportico reported that the offer for 60% club ownership was valued at $108 million. Lasry has previously shown interest in purchasing the Seattle Reign and Angel City FC.
