On Dec. 20, Katie Johnson announced her retirement from professional soccer. The midfielder spent eight years in the NWSL, most recently with Angel City FC. She also played for San Diego Wave, Chicago Red Stars, Sky Blue FC (now NJ/NY Gotham FC) and Seattle Reign. In her eight years, Johnson played 6,542 minutes and scored 15 goals. She also made 23 appearances for the Mexican national team and scored 8 goals.
