Kansas City NWSL will play home matches at Children’s Mercy Park in 2022, upgrading from the patchy baseball field at Legends Field to one of the finest soccer stadiums in the U.S., where MLS’ Sporting KC is the main tenant. The news comes just days after the team announced it was building a $15 million, privately financed training facility. The two news items immediately boost KC toward the top-end of the NWSL for facilities.
