After taking over as interim head coach on June 14th, Becki Tweed took Angel City from 11th place to fifth place and secured the team a spot in their first postseason. Today the LA-based team announced Tweed as its head coach, losing the ‘interim’ descriptor.
Although the team lost the quarterfinal match against OL Reign, that was only Tweed’s second loss with the team over the 15 games she was in charge (8-2-5), and she also had an 11-game unbeaten streak.
