Gotham FC have fallen out of contention for the inaugural FIFA Women’s Champions Cup after losing 1-0 to Brazilian side Corinthians in the semifinal. Corinthians broke the stalemate in the 83rd minute with a goal from captain Gabi Zanotti. The reigning NWSL champions never managed to convert despite controlling 68.4% of possession, with only one of 20 chances on target. Rose Lavelle came off during stoppage time with what appeared to be a head injury.
