Portland Thorns/Timbers president of soccer Gavin Wilkinson and president of business Mike Golub were fired on Wednesday, less than 24 hours after the club said they would be removed from all Thorns business. Both men were identified in Monday’s Yates report, Wilkinson for recommending Paul Riley to the Western New York Flash (in addition to his failures to support Mana Shim) and Golub for sexualized comments toward Cindy Parlow Cone when she coached the Thorns.
