The United States will head to a U-17 Women’s World Cup with professional players for the first time later this month. Four players from the NWSL – Angel City FC’s Kennedy Fuller, Seattle Reign FC’s Ainsley McCammon, and San Diego Wave FC’s Kimmi Ascanio and Melanie Barcenas – are on the U.S.’ roster. Goalkeeper Molly Vapensky, who plays for the USL Super League’s Carolina Ascent on an Academy Contract (maintains amateur status), is also on the roster.
