According to German women’s national team head coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg, and first reported by BILD Sports, FIFA has turned down a bid to increase FIFA Women’s World Cup roster sizes from 23 players to 26 players. This fall, the men’s World Cup saw the increase in roster sizes in Qatar. BILD reported that FIFA stated it would be “favored” for stronger countries.
