FIFA has once again elected to disallow the ‘One Love’ armband at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The armband — designed to support the LGBTQ+ community — was also banded at the 2022 men’s World Cup, hosted in Qatar. One of the armbands approved for the women’s World Cup has a rainbow design, but the messaging states, “United for Inclusion.” There are eight FIFA-approved armbands approved for this summer’s World Cup, in Australia and New Zealand.
