Catarina Macario’s future remains unknown for now, but sources have told ESPN’s Jeff Kassouf that the U.S. women’s national team star may be heading to the San Diego Wave. The NWSL’s west coast club is in “advanced negotiations” to sign the forward, according to Kassouf. Additionally, Macario has received offers to stay in Europe — namely, Barcelona — but the U.S. international prefers the NWSL to “to be closer to home.”
