The Portland Thorns have hired Robert Vilahamn as head coach, sources told ESPN’s Jeff Kassouf. Vilahamn coached Tottenham Hotspur for two seasons, leading the team to the FA cup final in the first. He was fired in June after Tottenham finished the season one spot above relegation. The Thorns fired former head coach Rob Gale in November after the team lost to the Washington Spirit in the NWSL playoff semifinals.
