Julie Ertz played her first competitive match in 611 days on Saturday, returning to the field for the United States in a 2-0 victory over Ireland. Ertz entered the match in the 67th minute, replacing Andi Sullivan in midfield. Ertz last played for the U.S. on August 5, 2021, in the Olympic bronze-medal game. She gave birth to her son in August. She was honored pregame for her 100th cap, which she earned in 2021.
