Eight NWSL players selected for U-20 World Cup roster

Eight players from the National Women’s Soccer League will represent the United States in the 2024 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia. The tournament is set to run from Aug. 31-Sept. 22. Ally Sentnor, who was selected first overall in the 2024 NWSL Draft by the Utah Royals, leads the group. Other selections include Jordyn Bugg (Seattle Reign), Savy King (Bay FC), Gisele Thompson (Angel City FC), Claire Hutton (Kansas City Current), Riley Jackson (North Carolina Courage), Ally Lemos (Orlando Pride) and Emeri Adames (Seattle Reign).

The USA will open the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup on Sunday, Sept. 1 against reigning FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup champions Spain. Then, the U.S. will face Morocco on Sept. 4 and finish the group stage against Paraguay on Sept. 7.
