The group from Denver that the NWSL had already chosen to move forward with to become the league’s 16th team agreed to pay $110 million as an expansion fee, a source confirmed. The Equalizer previously reported that Denver was the choice to be the NWSL’s 16th team, to begin play alongside Boston in 2026, and that the fee would be for over $100 million according to multiple sources. The NWSL is yet to formally comment.
