Croix Bethune, midfielder for the Washington Spirit, has been voted the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League Rookie of the Year.
The no. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NWSL Draft, Bethune led the NWSL in assists this season, while notching five goals. Though she missed the final nine games of the season due to a knee injury, the Georgia alum outpaced all rookies in both goals and assists.
Bethune will receive a cash bonus from the NWSL and award presenter Ally. The Washington Spirit play the Orlando Pride for the NWSL Championship in Kansas City on Saturday.
