In the first year of the latest National Women’s Soccer League award, Croix Bethune has won the league’s Midfielder of the Year title. The Washington Spirit midfielder won the NWSL’s Rookie of the Year title, as well. Bethune led the league in assists with 10 in 17 matches, before a season-ending injury in September. She started 16 matches, scoring five goals in her rookie season.
