U.S. fullback Emily Fox will join the North Carolina Courage ahead of the 2023 season following a trade which will send defenders Abby Erceg and Carson Pickett to Racing Louisville in exchange for Fox. The Athletic’s Meg Linehan first reported the news, which EQZ confirmed independently. Fox was the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NWSL Draft and is considered the U.S.’ fullback of the future. Pickett and Erceg provide Louisville much-needed defensive cover.
