Concacaf announced it will be launching its first women’s club competition, in response to positive reception of the W Gold Cup, which concluded on Sunday. The W Champions Cup will be played between 11 clubs from August to May beginning in 2024–25, and will become the only route for the region’s clubs to qualify for the upcoming FIFA Women’s Club World Cup. Mexico and USA have each been allotted three clubs in the Group Stage, while Jamaica, Panama, and Costa Rica were each allotted one Group Stage club. One club from each of Canada and El Salvador will play in the Preliminary Round play-in.
