On Thursday, NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman spoke specifically about Trinity Rodman during the annual State of the League address. “Specifically, as it relates to Trinity, and candidly, any other top player in the world, we want those top players here in the NWSL,” Berman said. “And particularly, we want Trinity in the NWSL, and we will fight for her.” Rodman’s contract with the Washington Spirit expires after this season, and the NWSL’s ability to retain her has been a big topic of debate.
