On Wednesday, Angel City forward Christen Press posted on Instagram a series of photos with a caption that read in part “1 knee. 8 months. 3 surgeries.” Sydney Leroux also shared that she and Press did not travel to Florida with their Angel City teammates for a preseason trip. U.S coach Vlatko Andonovski said in February that Press was “in return-to-play protocol,” after estimating in October that she could be able to play limited minutes by late February or early March. The U.S. women’s national team next, and last, camp before the 2023 World Cup is in April.
