China, Japan, the Philippines, and South Korea have qualified for the 2023 World Cup after advancing to the semifinals of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup on Sunday. South Korea upset Australia, who already qualified as co-hosts, 1-0 behind Ji Soyun’s goal. The Philippines prevailed over Chinese Taipei in penalty kicks to qualify for the first time. Chinese Taipei, Thailand and Vietnam now play a round-robin for the final automatic berth. Losers go to a playoff.
