The Chicago Red Stars have fired Michelle Lomnicki from her role as general manager for what the club’s board said was “a lapse in judgment to not share important information with club leadership.” Lomnicki is a former Red Stars player and was promoted to GM in January after a year as associate GM. She also coaches at youth club Chicago Empire alongside her husband, Was, who is the sporting director.
