The Chicago Red Stars announced that defender Sam Staab has sustained a torn Achilles tendon and has been placed on the season-ending injury (SEI) list. Staab was injured in Chicago’s match against Gotham FC on July 20. Staab holds the National Women’s Soccer League record with 105 consecutive starts and is a three-time Iron Woman. In March, Staab signed a three-year contract extension to keep her with the Red Stars through the 2026 season.
