Catarina Macario announced that she will not be ready to play for the United States at the 2023 World Cup. Macario, 23, tore her ACL on June 1, 2022, and has been rehabbing with an eye toward playing in her first World Cup. She missed the entire season for Lyon. Macario moved to the U.S. from Brazil in her youth and became a U.S. citizen in late 2020. She played at the Tokyo Olympics.
