Carli Lloyd is the newest minority owner of NJ/NY Gotham FC, the club announced on Wednesday. Lloyd retired from playing for Gotham and the United States last year. Gotham chairman Tammy Murphy said that when Lloyd, a New Jersey native, retired last year, “we always envisioned her remaining a part of Gotham FC.” Lloyd will consult and advise “leadership on a variety of club initiatives designed to promote the club and support its players.”
