Ben Olsen stepped down from his role as Washington Spirit president, the team announced on Monday. Olsen, the former D.C. United player and coach, was hired by former Spirit owner Steve Baldwin last year for a a contract reportedly worth $300,000 per year. New owner Michele Kang sought to move Olsen to a technical role, but Olsen chose to step down instead. It is unclear how much of his contract was paid out.
