Longtime North Carolina women’s soccer coach Anson Dorrance announced his retirement after 47 years of coaching. In 45 years, he led the Tar Heels to a record 21 NCAA championships. The decision comes just a few days before North Carolina is set to start its 2024 campaign on Aug. 15. Associate head coach Damon Nahas, brother of North Carolina Courage coach Sean Nahas, is set to take over as interim head coach.
